journal perth doodles

I love the doodles we absent-mindedly make while doing other tasks. They are a "stream-of-consciousness" medium, often giving us surprising images.

Over time, I plan to collect my doodles and post up the more interesting examples. I've already noticed that the enlarged scale amplifies the marks and artifacts. If inspired to, I'll process them further before showing them.

This installment of 2 doodles has been Post-It noted to my monitor bevel for weeks. There was something about them that I liked too much to be able to throw them away. Finally, it clicked and I realised that I should scan them and archive them here.

What I like most about "Sad Bear" are the cross-hatched cheeks. With "Happy Flower", it's the eyes, which remind me for some reason of a crazy but benign Hindu God.

News

New Season

A busy Perth winter is turning into a busy Perth spring. Which is just the way we like it.

Cicerellos

I had fun working with Busara on the new Cicerello's website.

Inspiration

Thinking for a Living

Serious inspiration, on tap. Thinking for a Living is an online magazine for designers and other aesthetes. The main attractions for me are the thoughtfully written feature articles and the carefully curated list of links.

Pictory

Pictory is a beautifully designed and tightly curated photography showcase. The combination of large beautiful images with human stories delivers a compelling experience, not dissimilar to that of pouring over a high quality book.
